What is brain entrainment?

I want you to come to one of the sound baths I’m offering at Green Light Reiki this month. Your nervous system needs it.
The singing bowls and gongs create resonant frequencies that your body responds to. They help activate the parasympathetic nervous system (hello physiological homeostasis! sorry it’s been so long, fight or flight mode has been in overdrive because…so many things). The instruments I use in a sound bath create oscillations that our brainwaves match. This is brainwave entrainment. The gentle monaural beats give our nervous system a rhythm to follow and help our brains shift out of Beta brainwaves (alert problem solving mode) to Alpha brainwaves (calm, relaxed awareness). Changing brain waves shifts our whole physiology because our brain, heart, and breath are connected through the parasympathetic nervous system. Rich tones from singing bowls and gongs encourage longer exhales, which stimulate the vagus nerve (releasing serotonin, lowering cortisol, and telling the system it’s safe to rest).
Self care is more than a catch phrase. It’s a practice.
Join me! (I'll be co-facilitating with Gillian on the 12th and 26th)
